We look forward to welcoming you to Johannesburg, South Africa for the 2025 KPMG Africa Tax Summit, where we will convene to share ideas and discuss approaches to challenges faced by tax leaders of major multinational organizations. The Summit is designed for executives leading tax and finance functions with oversight for African operations.

Connecting the dots to power the tax function

This will be a distinguished gathering, bringing together tax leaders from across Africa and beyond. In the main plenary sessions, we will hear from notable guest speakers and KPMG subject matter experts on the big picture themes of geopolitics and tax policymaking, technology and artificial intelligence; as well as the importance of collaboration as a driver for unlocking collective strength.

Bridging policy gaps: Tax policy as a catalyst for development

Collaboration: Unlocking collective strength

Technology: The glue for efficient tax administration and compliance

The opening plenary session will explore how tax leaders are leveraging opportunities amid the complexities of an ever-changing tax landscape in Africa to propel their organizations forward, including harmonizing tax policies across borders, implementing Pillar 2, and the incentivization of innovation.

The second plenary session will explore the power of collaboration in unlocking collective strength for more effective tax administration across Africa, with discussions on connecting tax to the business, sharing best practices and resources among African countries, partnerships between governments, the private sector, and international organizations, and the promotion of responsible tax practices for building trust.

The final session will delve into the transformative power of technology and its role in enabling enhanced tax administration and compliance with a particular focus on technological innovation, data analytics and AI, and digital tax filing systems.

Informative and engaging collaboration sessions

The Summit is being designed to create opportunities for knowledge-building and networking in a variety of formats.  Additional breakout sessions between plenaries will offer deep dive technical discussion on topics including optimizing the fax function, indirect tax, transfer pricing and tax incentives.

Teams of KPMG professionals from across our global network of firms will be available to arrange private meetings to cover specific challenges facing individual client teams. If you would like a meeting arranged, you may request this as part of your registration.

We look forward to seeing you in September!
